From the very start when you have registered with us we assist you through the whole process from getting a HGV Drivers Medical, Provisional Licence, Revising for a HGV Theory Test, Booking the Theory Test and finally arranging the 4 / 5 day Practical Training Course and DSA test. The 5 Step Process of becoming a HGV Driver is outlined below, register now to recieve your HGV starter pack which includes your Medical Forms, Provisional Licence Forms and access to your online Theory Training Account.

Step 1 – Arrange a HGV Drivers Medical

Your medical must be completed by a G.P. We will send you the Medical Forms so you can take a Drivers Medical and will help to arrange this for you. A medical must be completed before you may apply for HGV provisional entitlement. After the age of 45 all drivers must pass a medical every 5 years and every year from the age of 65. The medical is to confirm you are physically competent to drive a Large Goods Vehicle.

Step 2 – Apply for a Provisional Licence

Your provisional licence application form will be sent to you in your HGV starter pack. This must be completed and sent to the DVLA in the brown envelope we provide, this must be sent along with your the Medical Form and the counterpart, (paper part) of your driving licence. The HGV provisonal licence application is free of charge so do not send any money to DVLA. Please note. The provisional licence form will ask what type of licence are you applying for. Make sure you tick the C box.

Step 3 – Begin Practicing online

Included in your HGV starter pack will be a unique username and password which will allow you to begin practicing and revising onine here for the HGV Theory Test. The great thing about our online revision service is that it is a pro-active service which allows us to map and chart your progress, should you have any difficulty when practicing and revising then one of our friendly staff members will be able to login and steer you in right direction should you need it, giving you peace of mind.

Step 4 – We arrange a DSA HGV Theory Test

Once your provisional licence has been returned to you we will arrange the HGV Theory Test without delay. The test itself will be split into two parts and will be held at your local DSA Test Centre, it consists of a Multiple Choice Test where you will be asked 100 questions with four different answers, you will have to score 85 /100 to pass. The second part of the test is the Hazard Perception where you will watch 100 video clips and will have to point and click on the screen when a hazard appears, you will have to score 65 / 100 to pass.

Step 5 – We arrange a 4 / 5 day Advanced Commercial Driving Course and DSA Practical Driving Test

On completion of passing your Theory Test then please call in and advise us when you would like us to arrange your 4 / 5 day Advanced Commercial Driving Course and DSA Practical Driving Test. The intensive course we now offer to trainees is designed to give you the highest quality of training and will give you the best possible chance of passing the test the first time saving you time and money so you can start your driving career a lot quicker and begin reaping the financial rewards of a highly paid HGV Driver.
