ADR – Hazardous Chemicals

We run ADR courses every week of the year. We offer all modules and classes (including ADR radio actives and ADR explosives). The type of VTC (Vocational Training Certificate) you need will depend greatly on which class of dangerous goods you are transporting. As well as having to sit each relevant dangerous class you must also sit the Core Module and the Packaged Goods Module and/or the Tanker Module. The modules and classes are as follows:

ADR Core Module:

Mandatory subject – covers such things as first aid, fire precautions, emergency procedures etc. All drivers requiring ADR must pass this module.

ADR Package Module:

Mandatory if you are transporting dangerous goods by road in anything other than a tanker, i.e. flatbed, box vehicle, tipper etc.

ADR Tank Module:

Mandatory if you are transporting dangerous goods in a tank (e.g. petrol tanker driver)

Classes:

All classes covered (1-9) Explosives, Gases, Flammable Liquids, Flammable Solids, Oxidising Substances, Toxic, Radioactives, Corrosives and Miscellaneous. A standard ADR course is run on any given week will include the Core, Packages and Tank Awareness / Modules and all 9 classes except 1&7 (Explosives and Radioactives).

Exams:

You must pass exams for the modules and classes you require. The exams are in a multi choice format and the passmark required is 70%. If in the unlikely event you have failed a module or class, you only need to come back and sit the module or class that you have failed.
